A collection of illustrations and sketches I've made over the years. Enjoy.

A Boy and His Guitar: a boy in jeans and sneakers sitting and playing an acoustic guitar on a red background
A Boy and His Guitar. I wanted to draw a character that reminded me of myself in high school, falling in love with the guitar and finally getting good enough to play along to my favorite songs. I remember not being able to wait to get home from school and play again.

The Boy, The Girl, and The City: a guitarist in a subway entrance serenading a woman on a balcony under a night sky
The Boy, The Girl, & The City. My wife and I lived in the city when we started dating, and I'd drive in to see her. To celebrate our 10th anniversary, I made this illustration to document that moment in our relationship. A print of it still hangs in our bedroom.

A Girl and Her Dreams: a girl with brown hair in profile on a teal background
A Girl and Her Dreams. This character was inspired by the animated shows my daughters were watching at the time — shows with young, hopeful, talented female leads with big dreams. I liked imagining a future shaped by women like that.
Pouting Parker: a pouting child in a backwards cap on a pink background
Pouting Parker. This is my oldest daughter back when she went through a pouting phase — anytime the family said or did something she disagreed with, she'd pout just like the kid in this drawing. When I showed it to her, she laughed because she instantly recognized herself.
Girl on a Walk: a blonde girl in a white top and gray skirt on a peach background
Girl on a Walk. I drew this one quickly, in one of those moments where I ask my kids "what should I draw?" That time they said "a girl," and this came to life.
School Dayz: a boy standing in front of a chalkboard with addition problems
School Dayz. A nod to '90s Saturday morning cartoons. I wanted to capture a character like the lead of a '90s-style animated series that never actually existed — maybe I'll draw the rest of the cast of School Dayz one day.
1968: a woman in a green dress standing in front of a vintage blue VW Beetle
1968. This one started as a drawing exercise — the lesson called for a female figure like the one here. Once I'd painted her, I thought about what era she might be from, which is what brought in the vintage VW Bug.
The Ballerina: a ballerina in a gray leotard balancing in a pirouette pose on a green background
The Ballerina. Both of my daughters were in dance classes when I drew this one, for them, to celebrate a love of dance that continues to this day.
A Girl and Her Sparkler: a girl holding a glowing sparkler against a dark background
A Girl and Her Sparkler. Inspired by a photo I took of my oldest daughter holding a sparkler in our backyard on the 4th of July. I thought the moment would make a fun illustration.
